It is important to look at a product’s totality – both content and packaging. We attach great importance to developing climate-smart packaging for our private label products. Packaging materials are selected based on the products’ needs and properties. For example, packaging is designed to prevent unnecessary waste and to be easily recyclable while also being cost-effective. We are working to minimize the use of plastics and prioritize renewable and recycled materials without hazardous chemical compounds.

A few leaps toward sustainable packaging:

• We are reducing our use of plastics by removing or reducing the amount of plastics in as many packages as possible
• We were first in the industry to introduce deposits for plastic fruit juice bottles. Deposits are good, and we continue to expand our use of deposits for more and more products
• The packaging for our Såklart line of household cleaning products uses only recycled or renewable plastics
