To reduce our climate impact we aim to exclusively use green electricity from the sun, wind and water. Toward this end we are also generating electricity ourselves from solar panels on the rooftops of many of our stores and warehouses. Refrigerants with a major climate impact are not to be used in our refrigerators and freezers. And by capturing excess heat we aim to be self-sufficient in heat.

A few leaps toward smarter energy consumption:

• We are modernizing and replacing climate-impacting refrigerants in refrigerators and freezers with more energy-efficiency alternatives
• We use only green electricity
• Many of our stores and warehouses have solar panels on their rooftops
