Axfood’s Annual and Sustainability Report 2025 has been published and is now available on the Group’s website.
“By leveraging the strength of our business model, we continue to challenge and summarise another year of above-market growth and stronger market positions. We are preparing for the future and continuing to invest in strategically important areas in order to become even more efficient and competitive. We are maintaining a high rate of development, and I am convinced that we are well positioned to continue to challenge and grow,” says Simone Margulies, President and CEO, in the CEO’s message.
During 2025, Axfood continued to successfully navigate a dynamic market, with positive performance across the Group’s retail chains. Willys, Hemköp and Snabbgross strengthened their positions within each respective market segment, while within City Gross, activity levels were high to improve the chain’s competitiveness in the hypermarket segment.
Axfood continues to invest for the future. During the year, the pace of expansion was high, with a total of nine new Group-owned stores. Within the private label assortment, approximately 270 new innovative products were launched. Further progress was also made in the logistics transformation, and an agreement was signed for a new highly automated logistics centre in Kungsbacka, scheduled to be completed in 2030. In addition, an important milestone was reached as the transition to fossil-free transports – both owned and procured – was completed, resulting in significantly reduced emissions.
As part of Axfood’s work to minimise its environmental impact, the Annual and Sustainability Report is as in previous years only made available in the digital format.
